Diversity, NASCAR and West Virginia: Which One Isn't Like the Others?

Marcus JadotteThere may be many things that folks consider in common between West Virginia and NASCAR, but the word "diversity" probably isn't one of them. Yet in many ways, diversity is the key to future success for both.

We are delighted to announce that Marcus Jadotte, NASCAR's Managing Director of Public Affairs, will be a featured keynote speaker at the Create WV '09 Conference. Jadotte was named NASCAR’s managing director of public affairs in June 2006. He previously had served as senior manager for national media outreach, having joined NASCAR in that position in March 2005.

Prior to joining NASCAR, Jadotte served as deputy campaign manager for Sen. John Kerry’s presidential campaign. Prior to that campaign, Jadotte served as chief of staff for U.S. Rep. Peter Deutsch (D-FL). Jadotte is a graduate of Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla.

Jadotte will address the unique challenges of building proactive momentum for diversity within a tight-knit cultural environment such as NASCAR. He will highlight lessons learned from the NASCAR Diversity Internship Program and other outreach and development efforts.
