We've often held WV Public Radio's Mountain Stage up as a tremendous example of creative economy entrepreneurship. Larry Groce, Andy Ridenour & team have built an internationally known and appreciated cultural asset that has gained the respect of the world's greatest musicians during its 25+ years.
So what better way to celebrate one of our state's greatest cultural exports and assets than to launch the 2009 Create WV Conference with a special Mountain Stage presentation? We are thrilled to announce just that.
The Mountain Stage team has developed an amazing show on Sunday, October 18, at the Keith Albee Theater in Huntington. Full conference participants will gain access FREE to the show (after registration at the Big Sandy Arena between 12pm - 6:30pm). Others who are not attending the conference can also attend the Mountain Stage show for $18. Tickets will be available on www.ticketmaster.com.
Since we're celebrating West Virginia innovation and creativity, we'd be remiss not to showcase our native talent. We are honored that Kathy Mattea, one of country music's most accomplished stars and a West Virginia native, will appear! In addition, a unique group called The Ahs, based in Hinton, WV, will appear. The lineup also includes WV-based group The Songcatchers and highly-acclaimed artist Shannon Whitworth.
We hope you don't miss this year's most powerful celebration of West Virginia talent, innovation and creativity!
