An exciting grand opening of the Eastern Panhandle Innovatin Cener, known as Epicenter, is being held on December 12 in Martinsburg. It's great to see this kind of mixed use facility being launched. Better yet, it is great to see that it is an historic, restored building. You are invited to the celebration event:

Grand Opening of the Epicenter, a mixed-use active arts, professional services and high-tech business incubator
and
A workshop by Dr. Howard Teich and David Levine
The elegant three-story mission-style building at 224 West King Street was built in 1908 as the YMCA with a full-court gym, swimming pool, bowling alley, band hall and sleeping quarters. During the Great Depression, it became the Town Hall, Library and Police Station, until falling into disrepair in the 1980s. A decade later, the Old YMCA was purchased at auction, restored and inhabited by Moncure Chatfield-Taylor, the developer of the Blue Ridge Outlets. When the outlets closed, the building served as the headquarters of Butterfly.net, a venture-capital backed developer of video game technologies, which was relocated to Los Angeles.
On December 12th, 2008, this structure that has served Martinsburg for 100 years will be dedicated as the Eastern Panhandle Innovation Center ("Epicenter" for short), a mixed-use active arts, professional services and high-tech incubator. The Epicenter was founded on the idea that business excellence requires an integrated and balanced program of leadership development, technology innovation, community involvement, physical health, emotional resilience and mental well-being.
To initiate ongoing programs, Epicenter has invited Dr. Howard Teich of San Francisco, CA, who will present a luncheon workshop titled:
