Create WV is Standing Against Racism with the YWCA

YWCA Stand Against RacismAs part of Create WV’s participation in the YWCA Stand Against Racism Campaign, we invite you to join in a conference call dialogue Friday, April 30, 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM that will introduce you to specific legislation addressing education and at-risk-youth. This introduction will be led by the Reverend Mathew J. Watts, CEO of HOPE Community Development.

Everyone, including those not currently affiliated or familiar with Create WV, are invited to attend. To join, simply call into the conference call number: 712-432-0600 and use the PIN code 393307#. (NOTE: This is a toll call for anyone who does not have an unlimited long distance calling plan.)

Last year during the Create WV Conference the highest rated diversity track session was the “Elitist or Opportunity for All? Is the Creative Economy for Everyone?” breakout.
The session, in part, discussed the impact of poverty and the influence of racism on poverty and how both impact the growth of the creative economy in West Virginia.

Many attendees asked that this important and unique conversation continue and that Create provide opportunities to not just talk about creating opportunity for all, but to do it.

We hope this conversation will encourage you to "stand" with your voice and help us to think of other ways to "stand" so that Create WV  can continue to find creative opportunities for action to eliminate racism so West Virginia can build a diverse and thriving creative economy.
