Create WV 2009 Workshop: Building Business Plans That Attract Investment

The fourth pre-conference workshop at Create West Virginia is focused on how to build a business plan with the goal of attracting investors in mind. These investors could be private investors, institutional investors, or even foundation or government grant investors.

What do all these investors have in common? They need:

  • A confidence in the leadership of the organization requesting the funds
  • A clear idea of how the organization operates and generates revenue to become sustainable
  • A compelling vision for WHO the customers really are, and how the organization will win those customers
  • An understanding of the unique value proposition and services delivered by the entity seeking funding P

Please join Jeff James, CEO of Mythology (a marketing management consulting firm in Charleston, WV), former Microsoft Corporation Director of Marketing and current Chairman of Create West Virginia as he outlines the best practices for building a business plan that will attract investors. Taking learnings from angel and venture capital investors, banks, foundations and other sources, he will lead an informative discussion for both profit and non-profit participants on how to stand out and earn the trust of these critical sources of investment so that you can achieve your goals.

Jeff will be supported by Unlimited Future, a Huntington, WV-based non-profit entrepreneurial training center and business incubator.

The session, as with the other workshops on Social Media, Becoming More Creative and Good Jobs/Green Jobs, is $39 to attend. You can sign up via the regular Create WV registration process. We hope you can make it!
