All Together Arts Week, a celebration of the arts community in Mercer County, will take place March 26-April 2. Now in its third edition, the annual event features a variety of cultural activities at venues all over the county.
The week begins with a Kick-Off event on March 26 at The Turnaround in downtown Princeton, which will feature performances and displays by artists and arts organizations, from literary and theatre groups to healing arts and fine art galleries. The Kick-off showcases the creative opportunities Mercer County holds and fosters connections. The day begins at 10am with a "circle talk" and networking activities for those involved in the arts. At noon, the public is invited in to explore the displays, gather information and enjoy performances and creative activities.
The week concludes on April 2 with "Art Alive in the Streets," a colorful parade and drum circle in downtown Princeton. The day will begin at 11 am with sidewalk chalking, face and hair painting, other art activities and music. For the parade at 1pm, puppets, costumes and non-motorized floats are encouraged. Many arts groups from around the county and beyond are busy preparing displays, among those is a giant paper mache elephant.
Between the Kick-Off and Grand Finale, a full week of activity is planned in Bluefield, Princeton and Bramwell, including concerts, poetry readings, craft workshops, healing arts events, art shows and more. Participating organizations include RiffRaff Arts Collective, WindHorse Healing Arts Association, Gary Bowling's House of Art, East River Arts, Summit Players, 4 Pals Productions, Stages Music School, Chuck Mathena Center, Princeton Public Library, Craft Memorial Library, the Little Opry, Ervin Publishing Company, Brainy Boston Bookstore, Brainerd Gallery, Planet Extreme, WV Writer's Association and many more.
