On this Martin Luther King, Jr., Day 2010, I wanted to share some brief thoughts on the relevancy of celebrating and learning from this great man's life for West Virginians. Sadly, through the distorted lens of racial politics and a seemingly unavoidable tendency for humans to seek division as opposed to unity, some in our nearly all-white state may question the continued power and immediacy of Dr.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Artshas accepted the invitation from the West Virginia Division of Culture andHistoryto make West Virginia the site of the National SymphonyOrchestra’s 2010 American Residency. Between April 5 and April 13, 2010, the members of the Orchestra will participate in approximately 150 education and performance activities throughout the state.

The third Create WV Conference came to a close on Tuesday with over 420 people experiencing the power of an emerging creative community - Huntington, WV. Special thanks to othe local Create Huntington team who put in countless hours and contributed valuable leadership and ideas.
